Capsule Geology

The Link occurrence is located along Haha Creek about 54 kilometres north-northwest of the community of Germansen Landing.

The showing area is underlain by the Early Jurassic Hogem Plutonic Suite which consists of numerous intrusive bodies of distinct age. This complex varies in composition between gabbro, diorite, monzonite, syenite and alkali feldspar syenite.

Disseminated chalcopyrite, magnetite and pyrite are reported to occur over the entire length of the property. Increased concentrations occur with potassically altered syenite or where the syenite is more melanocratic. Chalcopyrite has also been noted in fracture fillings associated with epidote and hematite.

The Stake showing occurs near the eastern end of the Link claims where mesocratic syenite forms a northwest-trending ridge crosscut by a band of more mafic syenite, 4 to 5 metres in width. This band is enriched with up to 11 per cent magnetite and 0.15 per cent copper (Assessment Report 21449).

Work History

In 1990, the Link claims were staked by R. Reding and prospecting and sampling was completed; 49 soils, 10 silts, 2 pan concentrates and 5 rock samples were collected and analyzed. In 1991, prospecting and sampling continued with a total of 18 rock samples taken.

In 2012, Thane Minerals Inc. carried out exploration at multiple areas on the Cathedral property including the Tenakihi (094C 071), Link (this description), Osilinka, Cathedral (094C 109, 181), Gail (094C 72, 133), Cirque, and Lake zones. Exploration consisted of silt sampling, soil and talus fine sampling (contour and gridded), rock sampling, and geological mapping. A total of 36 silt samples, 785 soil and talus fine samples, and 749 rock samples were collected. Approximately 1525 hectares were geologically mapped at 1:10,000 scale. Analyses of soil and talus fine samples and selected rock and silt samples have been carried out by x-ray fluorescence (XRF).

In 2020, Interra Copper Corp. completed a program of geological mapping, geochemical (rock, soil and stream sediment) sampling and a 14.0 line-kilometre induced polarization survey on the area as the Thane property.
